Chagford Montessori is located in a converted bungalow on the edge of Chagford town, close to Chagford Primary School. The nursery comprises one main classroom, child size toilets, a small room and music room. We are fortunate to have two secure outside spaces; a playground, with climbing frame and slide, a mud kitchen, wendy house, giant xylophone and a garden, with a grassed area, stage for performances and paths winding through mature shrubs.
We are proud to be accredited by the Montessori Evaluation & Accreditation Board (MEAB). The accreditation provides a benchmark by which we can judge whether we are true to the philosophy of Maria Montessori, the founder of the method we follow. Download Chagford Accreditation Report 2017
We have also been awarded the 'ICAN' accreditation, for which we proved to the accrediting body that we provide excellent support for children's language development.
Chagford Montessori is registered for 20 children aged between 2.5 - 6 years old. We provide single sessions and full day care, Monday - Thursday, 9am - 4pm. 15 hours Early Years Educational Entitlement is available and 2 year old funding. We work with Chagford Primary School and other local schools to ensure that children's transition to school is as smooth as possible.
